Gallion Grand’s Visit Africa June 2007 |

We had a GREAT visit with Abby’s
Gallion Grandparents. They came and
stayed with us for 3 weeks during the month of June !! Abby really enjoyed getting to know her
Grandmamma and Granddaddy !! |
|
|
|

Dad went with Andy out to the
project site. This was his first taste of
salty coffee. |
While Dad and Andy were out at
the project site two new baby goats were born |

Dad and Andy had an opportunity
to hut wart hogs |
Andy shot a wart hog, but it ran
off. Our friend stuck around with a spear
the next time just in case Andy shot it again. Unfortunately, all the rest of the bullets
were bad & couldn’t be shot. |
|

We took a walk along the path
next to the lake |

Grandmamma and Granddaddy said
these reminded them of the Burgess Mustangs (their High School Alma Mater) |
We saw lots of bananas on our
drive down to the Southern Part of our Country |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
We also saw lots of baboons |
Abby enjoyed playing with Mommy
after a long ride in the car |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
We drank tea with chickens |
We saw men spinning cotton |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
We saw lots of neat huts |
We shopped in village markets |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
There were LOTS of baboons at
our hotel |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
We swam in one of the 40 springs
in the area |
All the riding in the car just
tuckered Abby out |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
We visited a wildlife park &
saw lots of animals. There were a TON
of zebra’s. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
We saw Zebra’s |
We saw Dick Dick’s |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
We saw a Nile Monitor Lizard |
We saw wart hogs |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
We visited a Crocodile Farm |
We saw LOTS of crocodiles at the
Farm |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Koleta, Grandmamma and Abby |
Granddaddy helped the guys break
up rocks for their construction project |

Abby liked to feed the Baboons |
She also wanted to hold their
hands |
|
|
|

And give them kisses |
And let them drink a coke |

We took a family picture outside
our hotel room |
On our way home we visited |

The waterfalls were BEAUTIFUL !! |

We took one last trip out to the
project site. Grandmamma and Abby
loved the baby goats. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Grandmamma didn’t care for the
salty coffee they served her at the project site |
She did enjoy seeing the hyenas
that hang out around the edge of town every night |
|
|
|
|
Back at home Abby enjoyed her
last few days with her Gallion Grandparents |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
She drank Diet Coke with them |
She colored pictures with them |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
She played blocks with them |
And she liked to swing around
the house with them |
|
|
|
|
All in All, we had a really
GREAT visit with the Gallion Grands.
Abby was awfully sad to see them go !! |
