We are starting to get back into the routine of
things around here. Abby’s back in her
Kindergarten class and loving every minute of it. She’s doing really well in school. She has always gotten good remarks on her
work at school, but today she came home with her first “bad” remark. It is a coloring sheet of Jesus teaching
at the temple when he was really young.
It is scribbled all over and looks like a 2 year old colored the
sheet. On the top of her sheet her
teacher wrote, “This is very messy.
How disappointing.” I asked
Abby what happened and she said that her teacher said they had one minute
to finish, so she just scribbled the entire sheet. Abby has never enjoyed coloring, but we
do encourage her to do her best at school.
This paper reminded me of a time when Abby was 2 and I was trying to
encourage her to color. Here was the
result:

Abby is our girly girl ! She LOVES to wear dresses & do girly
things. She is starting to branch
out a bit though. Last week, I
walked outside and found her climbing one of the trees in our yard.

We just signed Abby up for Kindergarten soccer, so
we’re excited about that. This will be her first opportunity to be a part
of an organized sport. I’m looking
forward to seeing how she likes it!

Nathan is our little man. I think he enjoys being the “big kid”
around the house while Abby is away at school. He loves to cook, so I try and get him to
help me in the kitchen when I’m making something. He’s a big fan of Thomas the Train ! The other
day, one of Abby’s little friends from school was over at our house for a
play date. I put a Thomas the Train
show (American English Version) on TV to keep Nathan entertained while Abby
and her friend played together.
Abby’s little friend walked in (she’s British) and she said, “Why
are they speaking in another language?”
I guess she’s used to Thomas speaking with a British accent. It made me smile! We take Nathan to a Tiny Tot’s music class
on Wednesday’s. It’s the highlight
of his week !
He thinks he’s such a big kid now that he is going to “school!”

While we were in the States Nathan got to see his
first “snow.” Now I’m really not
sure you could truly call it a snow . . . or even a dusting. But, Nathan was sure excited about
it. He was able to get enough snow
to cover the palms of his gloves!

The twins are growing up so fast. I think I’m a bit more sentimental with
them because, as far as we have planned, they are the final edition to the
Hatfield quiver. There are parts of their
growing up that I LOVE (like they can eat finger foods on their own, they
nurse less, they are a little more mobile), but I do miss having two tiny
cuddly little babies!! Both girls
started walking this week. They are
tiny wobbly little steps, but steps none the less. They are going to be walking all around
before we know it

Andy hung the baby swing from our tree this
week. The girls LOVE it !! Haley tends
to be a bit more adventuresome than Audrey and she just giggle out loud
when we first put her in the swing.
